I don’t want my life to be a preamble or a precursor for some extravagant finale.
The finale is right here, right now.
What is everyone preparing for?
School prepares for work; work prepares for retirement; retirement prepares for death.
The only preparation that can exist in life is the acceptance of that – death.
Once death is accepted, there’s nothing else to do but live in this grand extravagant finale.
Whatever you’re doing, wherever you’re doing it, let it be grand.
Create the ultimate creation, drink the ultimate drink, ride the ultimate ride.
Play the ultimate game, watch the ultimate movie, sing the ultimate song.
Drive around in the car all night just to get lost.
Lie on the roof all night and count every star in the sky.
Destroy that creation, spill that drink, crash that ride.
Lose that game, finish that movie, ruin that song.
And never forget, that no matter where you are in the world or what language you speak, music connects us all.
